What are some good places to eat and drink outside on our rare warm evenings?
These are a few of my favorites with outdoor seating, but I would love some new ideas:
A Cote (College)
Crepevine (College)
Raleigh's (Telegraph)
Le Bateau Ivre (Telegraph)
Fonda (Solano)
Pub (Solano - just drinks, no food)
Jupiter (Shattuck)
La Note (Shattuck)
Cafe Rouge (4th St.)
Julie's (Park St., Alameda)

Mon, May 19, 2008 - 10:25 AMThe Little House Cafe in Alameda (Blanding and Oak) is awesome (breakfast and lunch only)! They just started serving brunch on the weekends too. They don't have too much indoor seating so it is definitely an outdoor place for nice weather.

If you are in Southern Alameda County, drop by the Niles District and check out the Essenay Cafe's sweet backyard patio. -

Fri, May 30, 2008 - 2:29 PMI'm not familiar with this area at all. Is this walking distance from the historic train station? My boy loves it and this might be a fun stop off. -

Re: Outdoor Eateries
Sat, May 31, 2008 - 3:37 PMThe trains run between Niles and Sunol through the canyon every Sunday. And yes, the Essenay is in walking distance from the train station.
Check it out at www.ncry.org/ or www.niles.org/ or www.nilesfilmmuseum.org/
Niles is a funky slice of 'hood nestled up against the hills. It has no franchises at all,,no starbucks etc, it does have the Niles Cafe and a few other places for coffee and eats! The district does have a bunch of antique stores,,,too many in my mind, but some folks love it. There are numerous events through the year and my kids love the xmass parade and the dog parade too.
Hope that helps! -
